Contract
Solvwaste Environmental, working in conjunction with Dorset County Council (DCC) has set up a system to collect and recycle USED LAMPS from ALL Household Recycling Centres operated by DCC and managed by W & S Recycling and S.I.T.A.
Scope
Purpose designed containers for safe storage and transport of used lamps were supplied. Each site was supplied with a container capable of storing 500 lamps of 1” diameter x 8’ length. Safe use of the handling of such lamps was developed by DCC, Solvwaste and Forum-PR

The Scheme
The system has been operational for nearly 18 months and the collection rates have exceeded all expectations as originally envisaged by DCC. The process takes the original un-broken lamp, which separates the lamp into original components. ALL the components are re-used.
Collections takes place at regular intervals, which is done by exchanging with an empty container.
